SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
Instruct students in all subjects required for AAS Airframe and Powerplant Technology degrees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct lectures and demonstrations in assigned subject areas.
- Lead, supervise, and assist students with practical skill projects.
- Evaluate student performance of content knowledge and practical skills.
- Record all grades and submit final course grades to the registrar.
- Track attendance and submit daily to the registrar.
- All other duties, as assigned.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- All full-time faculty are required to participate in the University commencement ceremonies, to include wearing regalia from the college/university of which the degree was received. (Twice yearly-Spring and Fall, Saturdays).
- Partner with the Program Chair for continual course improvement.
PROFESSIONAL/PUBLIC ACTIVITIES:
- Mandatory Participation in the Hallmark Character Program: All employees are required to actively engage in this program to embody and promote our core values.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Aviation maintenance of commercial, military, and/or corporate aircraft.
- Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to speak to groups.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
PREFERRED:
- Master’s Degree with a concentration in Aviation.
- Instructor experience a plus.
REQUIRED:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Aviation, or a commitment to attain four years’ experience in aviation maintenance.
